The CompanyIn the autumn of 1989, my uncle, Vilmar Edlund, established his company, Anundsjö Mekaniska. He converted a barn at his parents’ home into a modern engineering workshop/smithy, and began to make wheel tracks. My father, mother and brother-in-law have all worked for Anundsjö Mekaniska. In July 2005, I started my own company, Markus Edlunds Svets och Smide [Markus Edlund’s Welding and Smithy], usually shortened to MES-Smide. What drives me always is my desire to develop new products and improve existing ones. I worked as a mobile service engineer in the Province of Småland for four years. After that, I worked as a licensed welder and engineer for five years, back home in Norrland, in the north of Sweden. I have a great deal of experience in welding cracks on harbour cranes and crane equipment. In 2006, I employed by first member of staff. The business has grown steadily, and, since autumn 2007, the company has had four full-time employees, and we also hire in the equivalent of one half-time employee. Our goal is to keep expanding, and employ more staff. |
